Organize Your Work at Home Day

Never check email first: This is a working rule you might hear often but it is true. Email can distract you from your to-do list. Whether it be an email from a friend or a new action item you just HAVE to do NOW email is distracting. Have another item that must be done first before checking your email. It will help to keep your priorities in order.

Make a task list: Make a home business to-do list. Action items you want to accomplish each day. It doesn’t have to be grandiose or involved. Maybe you only have 30 minutes a day to devote to your home business. Make those 30 minutes count and keep a to-do list for each day.

Break projects down into bite sized tasks:
Some things you can’t get done in a day. Break larger projects down into more manageable duties and watch as your goal is reached. For example you need to make a new website. Day make notes on the type of website and your needs. Is this informational? Will you use WordPress or Joomla, plain old HTML or one of the shoppe software packages? Day two go register your domain and find hosting. Day three install your software. Day four create your home page. Day five add an article or two.
Have set hour (or minutes)

Get the family on board: Don’t try to do everything by yourself. If you have family at home you didn’t mess the house up alone so you shouldn’t be cleaning it alone. Find more time to attend to that home business by making a chore chart and getting the entire family on board to keeping house.
