Increase Your Subscriber List

mailboxYou’ve probably already heard that the money is in the list. In fact did you know that Bath and Body works estimates that their list of ten million names is worth $18 per name. That’s 180 million dollars!  Certainly worth its weight in gold dontcha think?

Here’s how to build your subscriber list:

Offer Coupons and discounts – Sometimes you start a business but have no email list. Later on you start a mailing list but your early customers are not on it because you didn’t have one when they first find you.

Post a coupon offer on your site. You’ll attract new customers and you can offer the same coupon or discount to your current list.

Give Away Content – Reports, newsletters, e-courses, downloads, and seminars are great incentives to help build a subscriber list. The key to this strategy is to promote the free content in your marketing and advertising strategies rather than promoting your business. For growing your list a compelling headline and the promise of free information is a much stronger draw than a pitch for your services.

Steps for Offering Free Content:

Create your content.
Create the signup form on your website.
Create a marketing strategy to draw subscribers in.

Marketing Strategy:

Consider using the same report to get current customers to subscribe. Send them a letter via email or mail offering the report. A month later, send a similar letter with some variations to those who didn’t subscribe, and then a month later send another letter still different from the first two to the remaining folks who still haven’t subscribed. This strategy is subtle enough to get the majority of your customers to subscribe without seeming too aggressive, which could turn off some current customers.

Subscriber lists are a valuable way of connecting with your potential customers. The email address gives you the ability to communicate beneficial information, valuable products and services, special promotions and any interesting news. It is a great way to stay connected to your customers and prospects and yes, it is worth its weight in gold.

All About Affiliate Marketing

For many people, affiliate marketing is a dream come true. It provides everything they are looking for in an online business.

What Is an Affiliate Marking?

Affiliate marketing is when you earn money promoting the products and services of others. Many companies have affiliate programs and as an affiliate marketer you sign up for their affiliate programs that fit your niche.

For example, if you have a website about homes and gardening then you would sign up for products and services related to things in the home. Each time one of your website visitors buys a product or service from a program that you are an affiliate for, you earn a commission.

Most programs pay a commission based on purchases. However, some pay simply you for for sending visitors to their website.

How Does Affiliate Marketing Work?

As an affiliate marketer you will most likely have a theme based website and everything on your website will be devoted your niche topic. You will write content, create reports and information products and perhaps even create video or audio content. Within your content you will include links to the companies you promote as an affiliate.

For example, if you have a website devoted to keeping the home you may have an article on how to keep your home clean. Within the body of the article, where appropriate you would embed links to household product companies you’re an affiliate for.

You can also post affiliate banner ads on your website.

The Benefits and Drawbacks to Affiliate marketing

One of the biggest drawbacks to affiliate marketing is the vast amount of content you will need to create to promote products and services.

If you enjoy creating content it’s a great business model. If you’re not interested in having your own customers or managing shopping carts and online stores, then affiliate marketing is perfect.

As an affiliate marketer you can work on your own schedule and your business doesn’t suffer for it.  You can also create a bulk of your content in advance and use technology to schedule and deliver it while you’re doing something else.

Affiliate Marketing requires minimal startup and offers the opportunity to earn.

Information Marketing as an Online Business?

When deciding upon an online business model, information marketing is a great option. For many, information marketing is the ideal business.

What is Information Marketing?

Information marketing is when you create and sell information on a niche topic. While many people consider information products to be ebooks there is much more to the  products you can create and sell.

Information products can be:

-Checklists to help a customer keep track of niche tasks.

-Video demonstrations showing how-to for your niche.

-Workbooks that go through the tasks of your niche (for example keeping the home).

-Courses. You can create and sell a course through email or on CD.

-Audio files. You can interview experts and compile the information on books or in audios to sell.

-And of course there are ebooks. You can create these products independently or as a group of products to support each other.

The choice is really yours and depends largely on your topic and your audience.

Benefits of Information Marketing

Information Marketing is a great business venture because you can reap the financial rewards of your expertise for a long time to come. Your single information product might sell as well three years from now as it does tomorrow. You can often maintain an information marketing business with only a few hours each week. Additionally, even if you’re not interested in creating information products you can find great PLR products or you can hire a contractor to create the products for you.

Finally, information products work well to supplement other business models. Many entrepreneurs use information products to add credibility to their business or to boost profits.

Choosing Your Niche Topic

It is no secret that choosing the niche topic for your online business is important.

This is where you’ll stay so you want it to be familiar and comfortable.

Here are three steps to a good niche fit for you…

1. Look to Your Childhood:

When contemplating a niche topic many experts recommend choosing a topic you’re passionate about. For adults, this can be difficult. If you’re struggling to find a topic you’re passionate about, think back to when you were a child. What did you LOVE to do?

For example, did you love the outdoors and digging in the dirt? Bake cookies? Did you love crafts? I know a now young man who was passionate about trucks as a very small child. It stayed with him and he’s turned that niche into a great online business that is helping to put him through college. There are potential online businesses for your childhood passions.

2. Create a List of things to do before…:

Creating this list will give you insight about where your passions and interests are. I want take a gourmet cooking class. I wanted to learn to play piano (I did).  Can’t think of anything else but you get the idea. These are potential niches for me (I’m already doing one).

3. Solve Your Own Problems:

What problems are you struggling with? What answers are you looking for? Chances are other people are looking for those same answers. If you find the answer this can be a great niche for you.

For example, if you’re struggling to clean your home and cook great meals then that could be a potential business niche. Once you find the answers to your questions provide them to your website visitors and customers.

Before you commit to any niche, research that niche for potential profitability. That means studying supply and demand and exploring potential business models.

A good niche has three qualities:

1. You enjoy it

2. It is in demand without too much competition.

3. You can profit from it.

There are tons of potential business niches just waiting to be found and recognized. Don’t fall prey to the myth that all the good niches are gone. They’re not! You can achieve online success and follow your dreams.
